Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions Ukrainians abroad ask most often. Didn’t find yours? Write to us.

Can I resolve matters in Ukraine without coming in person?

In most cases, yes. Consultations take place online, and actions in Ukraine can be carried out by a representative under a power of attorney. If an action requires your personal presence, we will tell you in advance and help you plan the trip.

How do I issue a power of attorney while abroad?

A power of attorney can be issued at a Ukrainian consulate or by a notary in your country of residence, with an apostille or legalisation depending on the country. We will tell you which option suits you and prepare the text.

Can I accept an inheritance from abroad?

Yes. The application to accept an inheritance can be filed through a representative or sent as a certified application. The law sets deadlines for accepting an inheritance; if they have been missed, in some cases they can be restored through the court.

What should I do about property in temporarily occupied territories?

It is important to keep or restore the documents proving your rights and to record the facts of loss of or damage to the property. We help with confirming rights, inheritance, establishing legal facts and judicial protection.

Can I get divorced while living abroad?

Yes, in many cases the case can be handled remotely through a representative in court. Alimony and children’s place of residence can be dealt with the same way.

How does a consultation work?

Online — by video call, phone or messenger, at a time that suits you in your time zone. Before the consultation we review the description of your situation.

How much do your services cost?

The cost depends on the complexity of the matter and the amount of work. After reviewing your request we tell you the price in advance, before any work starts.

Will my information stay confidential?

Yes. We use the information you provide only to work on your matter and do not share it with third parties.

I don’t know which category my question belongs to. What should I do?

Just describe your situation in your own words in the request form and choose “Other”. We will work out which specialist and what kind of help you need.
